Be Our New Chair

Could you lead the Board of this award-winning, drug and alcohol charity, delivering services for people with drug and alcohol problems and complex needs in local communities?

Project 6 works across West and South Yorkshire, in Keighley, Bradford, Sheffield and Doncaster. We work with people, families and communities affected by substance use and experiencing other multiple and complex disadvantages.  Our core purpose is to provide opportunities and choices for individuals, families and communities to create meaningful and sustainable change in their well-being.

We have been supporting people with substance use problems since we were formed in 1989 and we deliver services over four main areas: alcohol and complex needs; families and young people’s services; recovery services; and Waypoint, our training service.

We are now looking for someone to continue the great work being done by our current Chair, leading the Board and working closely with the Chief Executive to achieve our strategic goals and reach more people who need our support.

A welcome from our current Chair

Over the last few years, the Board has worked with the CEO and the senior leadership team to modernise and professionalise the organisation. We have redefined our values, our strategy and our objectives. We have restructured at directorate, locality and coalface levels. Our finances are sound and we have overseen the development of policies and procedures covering all areas of our work.

We are looking for someone who can continue and enhance the work already underway. We feel that Project 6 is well placed to benefit from opportunities for further expansion. The Board will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the next few years. We have Trustees with the commitment and ability to do that but the Board needs skilful and sensitive leadership from someone with a sound strategic mind and a passion for all that we do.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in helping to fulfil our purpose to provide opportunities and choices for individuals, families and communities to create meaningful and sustainable change in their wellbeing. We are looking for a Chair to provide leadership and vision, and a lived commitment to our values and focus on inclusion, diversity and equality.

If you want to play a leading part in shaping the future of Project 6 we would be delighted to hear from you.
