HOURS: 14 hours (availability on Wednesdays are essential)
PERIOD: 8-month fix-term contract
Project 6 is looking to appoint a Trainee Wellness Practitioner
- Do you have an excellent level of ability in and understanding of mindfulness and complementary therapies?
- Are you good at communicating ideas to a wide range of people?
- Can you empathise with people of different abilities?
- Are you a well organised, motivated self-starter?
- Could you use your skills to help those suffering from chronic pain?
Project 6 is an award-winning voluntary sector drug and alcohol charity based in Keighley, West Yorkshire and Sheffield, South Yorkshire. We have been delivering services for people with drug and alcohol problems and complex needs in Keighley and Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven since 1989 and have evolved in response to the changing needs of the local community.
We are a harm reduction and recovery focused service working to help people reduce the risks associated with substance misuse and we offer highly effective, evidence-based support to drug and alcohol users and their families.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team on a pilot project looking at alternative ways to help those with issues related to long-term pain. By carrying out a specific therapy on patients, you would be helping to alleviate some of the physical and mental stress that they are experiencing. This work will be monitored, evaluated and go towards informing future practice.
Your main role will be to lead individuals and small groups in both complementary therapies and mindfulness sessions.
The Trainee element of this post is around upskilling a wellness practitioner in specialist substance misuse skills such as Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy.
Closing date 6th June
Interviews 13th June
