Head of Learning (Gambling Harms) 

Purpose of the Job

  • To lead the development and delivery of engaging, accessible learning that increases understanding of gambling harms and supports earlier identification and prevention. 
  • The role will combine digital and face-to-face approaches to reach a wide range of audiences, building confidence, reducing stigma and supporting people to take practical action. 
  • The postholder will take ownership of online learning content, including video-based education, and contribute to broader training delivery and organisational priorities. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver learning that increases awareness of gambling harms and supports prevention and early intervention  
  • Create and maintain a programme of digital learning content, including short-form video, that can be widely shared and accessed  
  • Translate complex subject matter into clear, practical and engaging learning for a range of audiences  
  • Deliver training both online and in-person, adapting style and approach to different groups  
  • Ensure learning content reflects lived experience, is accessible, and supports stigma reduction  
  • Work with colleagues and partners to identify learning needs and respond with appropriate solutions  
  • Contribute to building confidence and capability across services and communities to recognise and respond to gambling harms  
  • Monitor engagement and effectiveness of learning activity, using feedback and data to improve content and delivery  
  • Contribute to wider organisational objectives, including awareness raising, partnership working and service development  
  • Support the ongoing development of training offers, including digital and income-generating opportunities where appropriate

Post Specific Duties

  • Understanding of gambling harms and/or related areas such as addiction, mental health or trauma-informed practice (desirable)  
  • Awareness of approaches that support engagement, reduce stigma and encourage behaviour change  
  • Understanding of inclusive and accessible approaches to learning
