Recovery was in the billing at an open mic night hosted by a inter-cultural arts hub in Bradford.
The event brought together music and performances from a wide range of artists from with different cultural and life experiences. Simon from Project 6 was among them and moved the audience with his poems and story of life in addiction and the 16 years since.
Along with support from Jem, Simon first took to the stage at last years Recovery Month. For Simon, poetry has been another avenue of support throughout his recovery. Recently with the loss of a close friend from overdose the poems he writes have been cathartic and ‘helped with the healing process’.
